My First Haircut – 18 x 24 Mosaic

My First Haircut – #mosaic made with #recycled candy and drink labels

My First Haircut – 18″ x 24″ Mosaic on .5″ foam core board

This is a portrait of me when I was two years old, getting my first haircut here in Fort Worth, Texas. After I transformed the picture into a mosaic, my dad and sister told me about that day and how much I hated the clippers. I felt it was appropriate to add the original pictures (see below) and how I was not at all happy about the first time experience. But in the end, I got a piece of gum. Good question to ask, is it me or did the Super Bubble gum pieces get smaller? Candy wrappers used besides Super Bubble are Snapple Peach Iced Tea, Yellow Tazo Tea wrappers, Sweet and Low packets and several shades of Tootsie Roll Pop wrappers. Be sure to Pin it to your boards and share with others.

John Lennon – The White Album 1995 24 x 36

I was listening to a good amount of The Beatles while in studio.  My Uncle had the photo inserts included in the packaging. So naturally I used this image to see what I can do.  I used all Snapple Labels from 1993-1995 and some black acrylic.  As told, as the market changed, the labels changed.  These labels are long gone.  This was displayed across the street at a coffee shop and sold before the end of my show.
